Anything I can do to get my 5 1/2 month old breastfed baby to stop spitting up?
I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding my baby since the moment right after she was born(as in no formula). I started rice cereal a few weeks ago because she and I were both ready for it. She’s been a spitter-upper since day 1 so I’m pretty sure the rice cereal (Earth’s Best Organic) isn’t affecting it. I was hoping that starting “solids” would help the milk stay down but no luck so far (I’ve been keeping it thin though). So anyways, it’s pretty much a laundry issue at this point still and I’m just ready to stop running around with burp cloths and carpet cleaner. Any suggestions (or encouragement) on what to do to help with or deal with a spitter?
I’ve tried feeding her on an incline with her head higher than the rest of her body and I try to keep her upright for 30 minutes after eating. and she doesn’t spit up while sleeping, only when awake.
She seems to be a happy spitter so I don’t think it’s reflux of any sort (at least that’s what the pediatrician told us).
