organic brake pads

What is the difference in quality between the brake pads and discs are different?
Specifically, I have a resolution 93 Jeep Cherokee and a period of 99 Volvo S80. I do brake jobs on my cars myself and 2-5 parts stores have different options for my vehicles ranging in price from $ 20 – $ 105. The last car I put the brakes it was a Pontiac Grand Prix. I bought the cheapest rooms and type counter at PANA reported that they would not last a year. They have always worked great after 2 years and 28,000 miles fire when the car took. I almost have a good handle on the difference between organic, metal and all that. Rotors, they never say what the differences are other than describing as a base, Premium, Premium Ultra and so on. How do I decide what is the best value in the brake parts? Not the cheapest parts, but what I give more miles for my dollar. I found that the most expensive is not necessarily the best choice. Thank you.
There a huge difference. Parts stores usually have more of a mark (an entry-level online cheap and good) or they have one line with a good / better / best choice when it comes to pads. with rotors you may have one or two choices. Usually, a Cheapy and regular brand. Some shops may sell high-end rotors like Brembo. Having performed thousands of brake jobs I am not convinced that for everyday driving these provide no real benefit to their cost. The cloth imports cheap Chinese is sometimes distorted right out of the box, however, and must be avoided. Pads are where the differences are larger. The lowest price (red box) are not OE-specific material (usually organic or semi-metal, ceramics rarely) and characteristics such as lack of chamfer on the edge pad, the slots from dust, holds for the reduction noise and so on. The repair DON "T USE THESE except if their work is $ 79.99 brake special. They are sold to DIY'ers who only interested in cheap. These chips are much more likely to produce dust, rotor noise and premature wear. The mid-grade pads (blue box) are generally available in the type of material whatsoever OE semi-metal or ceramic, but it is rarely form of OE. Sometimes the note pad is available in several formula. You should carefully read the box here. Pads at this grade level have characteristics designed to reduce noise, dust and improve the wear and generally works well, as you select materials Friction correct. I recommend never to semi-metallic pads on vehicles designed for ceramics and vice versa. The higher grade (gold box) Blocks OE will use quality materials and friction have all other features designed into them to maximize performance while reducing noise and dust. They come from brands such as Akebono, who are a major supplier of equipment for almost all car manufacturers. Keep in mind when choosing brake parts they are the second most important piece of safety equipment on the vehicle and the price difference between cheap crap and the best is often as little as $ 10 or $ 20. How important is your life?
