How does using "cosmetics green" help the environment?
I am doing research for an article magazine on the greening. How does using green products help our planet?
There are some aspects of green beauty products. The most important thing for me is that they contain no known toxins. If your moisturizer contains framaldhyde then what is still not absorbed by your body will be washed into sewers or go to a lanfill. I watch carefully what I put on my body, many cosmetic products contain hormone disruptors, and chemicals that can harm our immune system and organs. Even all natural ingredients may be harmful to the earth. Take Laurel Sulfate sodium derivatives. It is a natural product made from palm oil. The problem is that it is used in so many products the lather that huge portions of rainforest are being clearcut to establish orchards of palm to meet demand. I'll put the link to the skin deep cosmetic data base. There is much information about what the risks are common in cosmetics.
