Compost when added with animal manures, is it considered organic matter?
Adding animal manures to compost (from leaves and tree branches), I believe is one of the best combination to obtain fertilizer that is suitable for all kinds of usage. Is this true? Adding animal manure will decrease the organic matter percentage in the fertilizer?
Animal manure is a great addition to your compost pile. It is organic. Another benefit is it is high in nitrogen and will make your pile heat up faster. Just be sure NOT to use manure from any animal that eats meat, you will introduce pathogens you dont want into your hard won compost.
